On behalf of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Board of Directors, I am writing to inform you that Kevin O’Brien has resigned as President of JVC. We are grateful to Kevin for his fine leadership of JVC during the merger and for guiding the new organization.
We are pleased to announce that Kathleen Haser has agreed to step in as Acting President while we conduct a search for our next President. As most of you know, Kate has deep JVC leadership experience, having served from 1984-2009 as Director of JVC East. She has been integral to JVC leadership, most recently serving as Director of Former Jesuit Volunteers.
We are grateful that Kate has agreed to step in to assure a smooth transition, so that our operations and service are unaffected by the transition. The JVC staff in Baltimore and the program offices around the country are looking forward to welcoming hundreds of new Jesuit Volunteers later this summer.
We are, as always, extremely thankful for your support of JVC. Your support is essential to the JVC mission, begun in 1956, of serving poor and marginalized populations and forever changing the lives of the young volunteers who commit themselves to the work for social justice at JVC’s placements in the United States and around the world.
Thank you.
Lisa Grattan Chair JVC Board of Directors
