Jill Kress is a former Jesuit Volunteer, having served in Detroit and is delighted to return to staff as a Program Coordinator.
Prior to returning to JVC staff, she was a University Minister at the University of Detroit Mercy, where she nurtured the faith formation of college students through retreats, service trips, reflection opportunities and ministry of presence. She also coordinated campus-wide liturgies.
Jill is a proud graduate of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, and earned her master’s degrees from Catholic Theological Union and the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, where she specialized in the intersections of theology and ministry with social justice. One of the highlights of her studies was the semester spent the Holy Land, learning about Scripture in the land it sprung from. She enjoys reading, baking, knitting, NPR, and a good cup of Earl Grey. She can be found at Detroit’s Eastern Market most Saturday mornings, and singing in the choir of her Jesuit parish on Sunday mornings.
