You lay the foundation for transformation.

Your Contributions

We know it is your commitment to the four values that make everything possible. You make change for good happen! Here are a few stories that showcase your involvement in keeping the lights on here at JVC.

You band together

SAMANTHA (CHICAGO 2014-15) crafted an email to all Hoya FJVs to encourage giving to JVs from her alma mater! The note led to nearly $5,000 worth of donations.

"When I reflect on my formation up until this point – when I think of all the grace, good fortune, and gifts that have gotten me to where I am today – I often think of crucial things that shaped who I am today: my time at Georgetown and my time as a JV. Sometimes I try to pick just one: Would I have ever even become a JV without the Jesuit formation at Georgetown? But without JVC, would I be motivated by the same yearning for solidarity, justice, and love that pushes me today? I can’t pick just one – I am deeply grateful to both for each teaching me, guiding me, and pushing me in different ways."

You share your story

"I look at everything through a different lens now, and that's truly such a blessing. I feel so heavy for all of the current JVs. I know you are providing them with so much support, and that doesn't go unnoticed.

Returning home has allowed me to jump back in, joining all of the Zoom calls you've been providing for the larger JVC community, and for that I am grateful."
ADRIAN (ATLANTA 2018-19)

"Former Jesuit Volunteers are a core part of the community I've created in Baltimore. We inspire and motivate each other to make a difference in the lives of others; we share experiences and lessons; we challenge each other to employ mindfulness and empathy in our everyday interactions; and we seek to always put JVC’s values into practice, taking on the world’s most difficult challenges and fighting for what matters.

There is no doubt that my JV experience working with homeless youth in San Diego fostered my interest in a career in social work. Through my FJV community, I have a platform to inform, educate, and encourage others to create a more just and hopeful world.

Because of JVC, I am part of a cohort of more than 10,000 alumni making a difference through service to others.

Thanks to JVC donors, like you, former JVs are achieving extraordinary impact in the U.S. and around the world. Join me by making a gift today to support JVC’s work to foster a generation of young adults committed to faith in action."

OLIVIA (SAN DIEGO 2013-2014)

You create campaigns

JUSTIN (KANSAS CITY 2003-04) set up a Facebook fundraising page for his birthday and raised $330 for JVC! That money goes a long way to help offset costs such as our retreats, JV transportation, and much more. Please consider this fun and simple way to help keep JVC going. When reminiscing about JVC, Justin said: "I was at a happy hour one night eight and a half years ago when a young woman, Lauren Lionetti, said three magical letters: 'JVC.' We immediately connected through our shared encounters as FJVs, and since then, have been married with two (hopefully) future JV kids running around! I will forever be indebted to JVC for the amazing memories, experiences, and relationships that make me who I am today."
