Jesuit Volunteer Increases Capacity at Catholic Charities Milwaukee

Hands held in prayer

When organizations are granted a Jesuit Volunteer, they can trust that their new teammate will step up to increase their capacity to fulfill on their mission.

Current JV Briana Buch provides this high quality of care and competency at Catholic Charities in Milwaukee. After graduating from the College of William and Mary in 2015, she worked for Epic Systems, a healthcare IT company, in Madison, WI. After working in the corporate world, she was inspired to return to service and improve the experience of poor and marginalized communities seeking services. Due to volunteers like Briana, our partner agencies can go above and beyond what they might normally have the capacity to do. Many of our partners share that their ability to apply for more grants, serve more people, or increase the quality of service dramatically improves once a Jesuit Volunteer is on board.

“Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee-Legal Services for Immigrants Program is honored to have worked with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps for over 9 years. The other staff at our office rely on the Jesuit Volunteer to provide compassionate and competent services to our clients.” With Briana’s support, Catholic Charities will serve over 3,500 clients this year.

“A major benefit we have seen is the advocacy that the Jesuit Volunteer has done on behalf of clients, working hard to connect them to the services within our office as well as beyond our office.  The support of a JV has helped our office to serve many more people than we would otherwise be able to.”
